Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are currently entitled to a free school meal under the Government’s Universal Free School Meal (UFSM) initiative.
Children in Nursery, Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 are not included in the UFSM scheme and must therefore pay for school meals. If you are in receipt of certain benefits such as income support and job seekers allowance you can apply to the benefits agency for free school meals for your child. You can collect a form from the office if you think this applies to you.
It is important that parents of children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 continue to register with the benefits agency if the are in receipt of qualifying benefits as the school receives pupil premium funding for all children who are registered with the benefits agency as receiving free meals.
If you do not qualify for free school meals the current cost of a school meal is £11.30 per week (£2.26 per day). All payments must be paid on-line using the School Gateway – please see the office staff if you need any assistance with this. If you think you are entitled to free school meals please ask at the office for a claim form.
You can find out about school meals from the Manchester Fayre Website.
