Attendance

Absences

If your child is unable to attend school, please let us know by ringing the absence line on 0161 205 3397 and pressing option 1 alternatively you can report your child’s absence on school gateway. Please report all absences before 9am. If we do not receive a message on the first day of absence we will text you to find out the reason for absence, this will be followed by a telephone call from the attendance officer if we do not receive a response. Home visits may also be carried out if you have not reported your child’s absence or if there is an attendance concern. Please be aware school may ask for evidence to support a pupil’s absence. Please continue to report your child’s absence each day they are absent.

Appointments

Where possible we ask that medical appointments are made outside of school time. If the appointment cannot be made outside of school please inform the school in advance of the appointment providing proof of appointment. Please be aware that pupils are expected to attend school before or after their appointment therefore a full days absence will not be authorised to attend an appointment. Absences will not be authorised for pupils to attend an appointment that is not for themselves.

Attendance Rewards

We run a reward scheme for pupils who attain 100% attendance or have the most improved attendance each half term.  Every child who has 100% or the most improved attendance has their name put in the prize draw.  One name per key stage is then selected at random and the winning family receive a voucher and a board game.

Holidays

Government guidelines which came into force on 1st September 2013 state that we are unable to grant permission for holidays during term time. Holidays taken during term time may result in a penalty notice and fine.
