Re: Coronavirus Update – School Close for Most Pupils From Monday 23rd March
I am writing to let you know that we have now been instructed to close the school to almost all children after this Friday until further notice. From today our main communication will be through the school website www.lilylane.manchester.sch.uk we will also send a text to alert you when new information is added.
As advised by the government, we will do all we can to stay open for the children of key workers (e.g. NHS staff, police, others in frontline services) and children with certain needs. We are waiting for the government to publish more information on what this means, but it would help us in the meantime if you could let us know if you think your child may fall into one of these categories, please email the school on email@example.com or alternatively you can call the school office on 0161 205 3397 – Please state your role or occupation.
We’ll be in touch again as soon as we are sure who this does apply to. All other children will need to stay at home, so we ask that you do not send your child into school from Monday onwards. Please note that this is a national closure – as you may have heard in the news – so while it is a challenging situation, we are not alone.
If your child usually receives free school meals we will also be in touch with more information about how we will continue to provide this, with support from a scheme that the government has just announced.
Teachers are preparing activity packs for your child to do at home. Children who are still in school will have. For children who are already at home these can be collected from school between 11am and 2pm on Monday 23rd March 2020. We will be updating the website regularly with information about home learning.
We are aware that some of our families may be in need of urgent financial support or advice. We will be putting information on the school website and would ask you to contact our family support email on firstname.lastname@example.org. Please contact us so we can offer advice or support.
We wish everyone good health both mentally and physically at this difficult time, please contact us if you need advice or we can do anything to help.
