Lily Lane is part of the School games programme. It provides young people with the opportunity to compete and achieve their personal best. It is a government led programme designed to deliver competitive school sport to young people.
The school Games comprises of both intra and inter competitions leading to county finals.
The school games of 4 unique types of competition:
INTRA SCHOOL COMPETITION ( LEVEL 1)
(This is a sporting activity taking place between pupils who attend the same school)
Lily Lane Primary School has joined the Manchester PE Association. The PE Association offers children an opportunity to take part in these level 1,2 and 3 competitions.
INTER SCHOOL COMPETITION (LEVEL 2)
This is a sporting activity taking place between schools from the same area either as a one off fixture or part of a league.
COUNTY FINAL
A county final is a showcase event held either as the culmination of a series of local inter school competitions or as an open entry events with invitations made by the local organising committee.
NATIONAL FINAL
This is a 4 day multi-sport event in August once every 2 years in elite sporting events across the country.
